I am still processing winning Best Fashion Blog at the Blog Awards Ireland 2017 last week. What a ride it’s been!

I was delighted to be dressed in V by Very for the night, thanks to Littlewoods Ireland, who were the sponsors of the fashion category, but also the Blog Awards Ireland 2017 as a whole. Check out my ‘Get Ready With Me’ video here.

The theme was Movie Icons and so I wanted to channel the effortless elegance of the two women that instantly pop into my head when I think movie icons – Those ladies being Audrey Hepburn & Grace Kelly. Both of these women became such inspirational figures, not only in the film industry, and for me, both epitomise class.

It’s difficult to even attempt to successfully emulate them in the tiniest sense, however, seeing as the theme was Movie Icons, I thought I would put a focus on exuding a sense of elegance reminiscent of these two women (so I really hope that’s the vibe that comes across, haha). I fell in love with this gorgeous navy dress when I saw it… I love a bit of lace! I wanted simple accessories to compliment it, and so went with a nude colour scheme when deciding on my bag and shoes.

We shot these images on the way to the event (just in the knick of time might I add), on Griffith Avenue, and for me, it brought back so many memories. Particularly in the early days of my blogging adventure, I stopped on this street on a number of occasions to shoot images, so it was crazy to be back there shooting on my way to Ireland’s national blog awards, and as a finalist at that!
